Google, iCal, PDA, Outlook, Yahoo! Schedules

Add your team's game schedule to your iCal, Palm PDA Date Book, Pocket PC Calendar, Microsoft Outlook Calendar, Yahoo! Calendar or Google Calendar automatically. Just follow the instructions below.

Google Calendar Google Calendar

  1. Subscribe to a NYCGHA team calendar.
    1. Click Manage Calendars.
    2. Under Other Calendars, click Add Calendar.
    3. Click Public Calendar Address and enter the URL for the NYCGHA calendar, e.g., http://nycgayhockey.org/teams/2008_spring/csv_dba/nylions.vcs
    4. Click Add.
  2. You can name the new calendar by clicking on Manage Calendar, clicking on the new calendar's "name," which is its URL, and entering a name under Calendar Name.
  3. You can configure your account to receive notifications by email and SMS prior to games.

iCal or iPod iPod

  1. You're lucky! Simply click the appropriate link ( NY Lions | Rockshots | White Tigers | Wizards ) to subscribe to your team's calendar.
  2. Changes and updates will appear in your iCal and iPod automatically.
  3. Please refresh your subscription daily at most when iCal asks.

Outlook / Pocket PC PDA

  1. Click the appropriate link ( NY Lions | Rockshots | White Tigers | Wizards ) to download the Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file.
  2. When prompted, specify a name and location to save the CSV file. (Windows may offer to "Open with Outlook". Don't fall into the trap. It imports only one game into Outlook, not the entire season.)
  3. Open Microsoft Outlook. PDA
  4. Choose "Import and Export..." from the "File" menu.
  5. Select "Import from another program or file" and click "Next".
  6. Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and click "Next".
  7. Choose the file you saved in step 2, specify "Do not import duplicate items", and click "Next".
  8. Select "Calendar", click "Next", and then click "Finish" to import the schedule.
  9. Pocket PC PDA Users Only: Sync your Pocket PC PDA with Microsoft Outlook.

Yahoo! Calendar

  1. Click the appropriate link ( NY Lions | Rockshots | White Tigers | Wizards ) to download the Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file.
  2. When prompted, specify a name and location to save the CSV file.
  3. Open your web browser and navigate to calendar.yahoo.com.
  4. Click on "Calendar Options" in the upper right-hand corner of the Yahoo! page.
  5. Click "Import/Export" in the middle column.
  6. Click the "Browse..." button under "Import from Outlook".
  7. Choose the file you saved in step 2, and click "Open".
  8. Click the "Import" button under "Import from Outlook".
  9. Click the "Done" button. It's near "Import/Export" on top.
  10. Click "Calendar" to return to calendar.yahoo.com.

Palm PDA

  1. Click the appropriate link ( NY Lions | Rockshots | White Tigers | Wizards ) to download the vCalendar (VCS) file.
  2. When prompted, specify a name and location to save the VCS file.
  3. Open iCalendar or open Palm Desktop and select the Date Book
  4. Choose "Import" from the "File" menu.
  5. Select the file you saved in step 2. This will import the schedule.
  6. Palm PDA Users Only: Perform a Hotsync operation to move the schedule to your Palm PDA.

Other Calendars

  1. If you use some other calendar or scheduling program, there is a very good chance that you will still be able to import your game schedule. Look for a feature to import comma-separated-value (CSV), iCal (ICS), or vCalendar (VCS) files. The feature would probably be under "Import/Export" under the "File" menu, but hunt around.
  2. Use the Yahoo! calendar links to import comma-separated-value files. Use the Palm PDA links to import iCal or vCalendar files.
