EJ began ice skating in November 1982. He's always been an avid ice hockey fan since he can remember. He recalls his first time watching the New York Islanders (before they even had a shot clock) at Nassau Coliseum when he was seven years old . And he'll never forget May 10, 1984 when he was at his first ever Stanley Cup Finals game between the Islanders and the Oilers. Later that summer, EJ attended the New York Islanders Hockey camp for two weeks.

EJ first learned about the NYCGHA from his best friend, Brian Harrington. After watching Brian play a few games for the Rockets, EJ enthusiastically joined the NYCGHA and played with the Rockets. His hobbies include flagging (flag dancing), photography, movies, sun worshipping and body surfing at the Cherry Grove beach on Fire Island, dancing and occasional drag queen performances.
