Profile for Jason Fabreaux
NY Lions, Center, #74
Height: 6'2", 188 cm
Weight: 168 lbs., 76 kg
Date of Birth: February 25, 1974
Birth Place: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
NHL Team: Toronto Maple Leafs
Jason first started playing organized hockey at McGill University in Montreal. However, he had great exposure to the game while growing up in "Tronno" (Toronto), when he was forced to play hours of shinny with his older bothers at the local outdoor rink. After years of playing in -20 degree weather, rarely is he seen these days on an open rink without his tuque or some Leaf paraphernalia.
Outside of all the ruthless Canadian jokes he has to endure, he says, "Getting involved in hockey down here has been one of the best parts of my New York experience, especially due to the great bunch of guys who make up the organization. I am truly in their debt for giving me hockey outside of home." And for all those who head up to the hockey tournaments in Toronto and Montreal he suggests, "Watch out for soakers, eh? and be sure to have a serviette handy in case you spill poutine on the chesterfield while drinking from the 2-4."
Before coming to New York, outside of hockey, Jason played tennis at the provincial and national level and has led instructional camps in British Columbia and Ontario. After completing his Engineering degree and working in aerospace and defence, he dove into information security leading him to ultimately running a small IT consulting firm out of Toronto with clients in the New York area. Recently, he practiced mergers and acquisition while completing his MBA at the Wharton School of business and is now a bond sales/trader working for Banc of America Securities.
