Stacey began playing hockey the summer of 2002. Before that she had not been on ice skates since seventh grade and had only experienced hockey from the stands. During the fall/winter of 2003 she played hockey with Columbia University's first ever women's team. In 2004 she became a referee for kids.
Though Stacey will always be a Rocket at heart, she retired from Hockey in 2005 after a concussion. She is a Children and Teen Librarian at the Queens Public Library when she is not working as a soap-elf at Soapwalla, her girlfriend's company.
