Ty grew up in Kansas City after moving from South Dakota at a young age. The youngest of three boys who are all active in the arts and athletics. Since his youth he's enjoyed playing baseball, football, golf, wrestling, and bowling.

A life-long singer he chose the nearby University of Kansas to pursue a BM in Vocal Performance. It was at KU where he first started playing hockey. He had always had an intrest in hockey but it took a long-time friend to really introduce him to the game. He became a hockey zealot and pursued the sport with the devotion of the newly converted. Within a year, he had formed the club hockey team at KU. It is still going strong to this day.

After college, he moved to Florida and was actively playing wherever he could find ice. He met his future wife, Caroline, at a singing gig and they decided to move to NYC and jointly pursue their carreers in Opera.

Playing time has been tough to come by in NY because of limited availabilty and being hella poor but he still posseses the drive to play. Plus - he's not all that bad...
